Rehearsals are imperative to concert preparation. There are a limited number of rehearsals between each concert and attendance is required at all rehearsals. Excused absences are permitted if they are unavoidable. An excused absence is defined as illness or family emergency. All absences need to be phoned in to PSYWE as soon as possible. Please contact Ruth Van Amburg (253 -709-0420), or designated PSYWE Board Member before 2:30 p.m. on or before the day of the absence.
Tardiness: A late arrival to a rehearsal is disruptive and unnecessary. Please take into consideration other members and be prompt to all rehearsals.
All PSYWE students/families are responsible for their instruments. Lost, stolen, or damaged instruments (or instrument accessories) are not the responsibility of PSYWE.
The Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble is committed to a partnership with our public and private schools. PSYWE students are expected to participate in their school music programs wherever they exist. This can be in whatever capacity the school may offer, be it choir, musical theater, band or orchestra. PSYWE asks its students to participate in at least one musical activity in school. Students are encouraged to audition for honor band, other youth organizations, participate in solo ensemble contest and strive to be an asset to their school personnel and music courses.
The participation fee for 2008 - 2009 season will be $425.00. Payment in full is due by the first rehearsal in September. If other arrangements are necessary a request in writing may be made to Gail Hecmanczuk, 3020 North 30th, Tacoma, WA 98407. Please make checks payable to PSYWE.
Need-based financial assistance is available to those students requiring financial help. Please contact Gail Hecmanczuk (253 752-4298) for further information.
Percussionists are required to provide their own mallets and sticks.
PSYWE has a very limited number of wind instruments. Participants using PSYWE wind instruments must fill out the Instrument Check Out Agreement.

Please put all pagers and cell phones on silence or turn them off.
Photographs of your participant may be taken after a performance only. A group photograph will be taken of the band. Notification will be sent out when copies are available.
